Merchandising

While the foundation and intent of Thanksgiving Day in the U.S. is to thank God for blessings bestowed upon us all year long, it also has become a time to celebrate with family and friends, with parades, parties and football games. In either case, flowers – centerpieces for dining tables and gifts for hosts of dinners and parties – remain a staple of the holiday.

“From centerpieces to hostess gifts, this colorful holiday display offers something for every need.”

For Thanksgiving Day 2018, Kimberly Zeigler, floral lead at Martins Foods (6466) in Altoona, Pa., created this abundant and colorful assemblage of floral goods, which features something for everyone and every need – arrangements, bouquets and consumer bunches; blooming plants; and even balloons, as a nod to the famous holiday parade in the Big Apple.

Zeigler entered this display in Super Floral’s 2019 “Merchandising Award of Excellence” contest. If you’re thinking about entering your fall and winter displays in the 2020 contest (the entry deadline is April 30, 2020), take photos of your displays as soon as you create them, and upload the images to the “Contests” page at superfloral.com.
