(Shutterstock) BROOMALL, PA — A new grocer is coming to Broomall and you’re invited to attend its grand opening on Dec. 6. Giant Food Stores is opening a new Broomall store at 2180 West Chester Pike at 8 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 6. The community is invited to attend a ribbon cutting at 7:40 a.m. on Dec. 6. The first 200 customers in line will receive a Giant reusable shopping bag filled with product samples, 200 Giant Choice Rewards points, and other grand opening savings. This new 74,000 square foot store replaces the current Springfield Road location and will be open from 6 a.m. to midnight seven days a week. Two hundred people will fill full and part-time positions, adding 50 new positions. Scott Grygo, a 24-year grocery veteran, has been appointed store manager of the newest Giant. “We’ve proudly served the Broomall community for over 17 years, and we are excited to do so in a bigger and better way once we open our new store next month,” said Grygo. “With the busy holiday season underway, we want to make shopping at Giant as easy and enjoyable for our customers as possible, so they can spend more time with family and friends. Our entire team is working hard to get ready for opening day and make this a special moment for the Broomall community and our loyal customers.” The new Broomall store will offer an expanded farm fresh produce department with more than 350 fresh produce items, including a variety of organic and local items. The produce department will also have, in-store cut fruit, fresh squeezed juice, a smoothie bar, kombucha taps and an expanded salad bar. In addition, the new store will feature a full-service deli with a selection of grab and go meals, made to order sandwiches and salads and an expanded hot food offering that includes a barbecue station featuring meats that are smoked in-store daily.
