Auto News AUTO NEWS If you have enough money, Rolls-Royce will probably build you a vehicle built to your specifications. In fact, they might even build you a one-off special model. Most of the time, however, having a specially-built Rolls features a unique exterior paint job in order to stand out from the others. The owner of this one-off Phantom, however, decided to focus on the vehicle’s interior rather than the exterior. Officially called the Rose Phantom, Rolls-Royce says that one million stitches were used to create the beautiful flower motif inside the Phantom’s cabin. Due to the number of roses embroidered into the interior, even the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective was challenged in creating the beautiful rose design. The custom embroidery spans the headliner to the doors cards and even the dashboard, the custom rose embroidery. “The Rose Phantom is a stunning iteration of a contemporary Rolls-Royce. Our extraordinary craftspeople at the Home of Rolls-Royce have achieved, with this car, something which can only be described as sublime. The work of our Bespoke Collective is the best in the world. When I look at creations like this car, it is with a sense of pride that I know that these skills could not be replicated anywhere else in the world,” said Torsten Müller Ötvös, Chief Executive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The rose used in the interior design itself isn’t any basic Ecuadorian breed. In fact, it’s called the Phantom Rose. It is a special kind of rose that is bred exclusively for Rolls-Royce by British Rose Breeder Philip Harkness of Harkness Rose. According to Rolls-Royce, the specially-bred rose only grows in the courtyard of the marque’s Global Centre of Luxury Manufacturing Excellence at Goodwood in West Sussex, England. Rolls-Royce didn’t mention who the one-off Phantom Rose will be going to. They only mentioned that it was commissioned by a Stockholm-based entrepreneur “with an extraordinary passion for flowers”. They also didn’t mention how long the Phantom took to build. Considering it took 1 million stitches to create the beautiful interior, for sure they put countless hours into it.
