The Waterbury Garden Club will be presenting their Annual Holiday Tea & Floral Demonstration of Festive Holiday Arrangements themed “Holiday Decorations from Nature’s Bounty” at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church located at 937 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Saturday November 23 rd , 2019. Doors open at 12:30; Floral demonstration begins at 1pm. The theme this year is “Holiday Decorations from Nature’s Bounty”, where floral Designer and Master Gardner Carol King Platt, will be creating several pieces that will d emonstrate how to create easy and beautiful autumn, Holiday & Winter decorations using materials from your garden, the side of the road, and local suppliers. All designs will be raffled off at the end of the demonstration. Carol King Platt is a former contributing editor at House & Garden and for 23 years wrote a garden column for The New London Day. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Traditional Home and many local publications. She takes as her topics the classic themes of great literature, that is to say, Life, Death, Sex, and Rhododendrons. Carol lectures regularly about garden design and flower arranging and designs gardens throughout Connecticut, New York and Rhode Island. Carol is the past chair of the Landscape Design Council of Connecticut, and is a member of The Connecticut Unit of the Herb Society of America and the Wallingford Garden Club. Carol was voted one of People, Places and Plants’ top ten New England garden writers. Carol lives and gardens with her husband, Rose grower and Rhododendron guy, Ted Platt, at Rose Cottage in Wallingford, Connecticut. The Holiday Tea also features Festive Plants, Wreaths and Garden Accessories for purchase, Holiday Baked goods for sale and a spectacular Holiday Raffle with themed baskets to check off everyone on your gift list. Every ticket holder is entered into a door prize raffle. Light refreshments will be served. Tickets are $20.00 and can be purchased from any Waterbury Garden Club Member and at the door.
