Hundreds of customers braved the cold temperatures Friday morning to line up for the grand opening of the new Giant Food Store at 300 Lincoln Avenue in East Stroudsburg. “Just in time for Thanksgiving and all the holiday entertaining season, our new East Stroudsburg store offers plenty of fresh ideas, meal solutions and new convenient amenities from the beer and wine to curbside grocery pick up and more to make the shopping experience a little bit easier for our customers,” said Sabita Singh, store manager. “We’re so excited, we designed this store with our customers in mind and meeting the grocery needs of them and their families, whenever and however you want to shop.” The new store features over 350 fresh produce items, with a wide variety of locally grown produce and organic options. Their seafood and fresh meat section advertises 100% sustainably sourced, and the offer free seasoning and free steaming. Giant also boasts so many full-service areas, such as the deli, bakery, pharmacy and floral department. The store also offers a menu of options for catering. The Beer and Wine Eatery seats 30 people. The shelves were stocked with over 300 different brands of national and local wines. Nearby are all the fresh-made fare such as sandwiches, wraps, salads, subs, meal combos, sushi and an Asian hot bar. Giant Food Stores are committed to the communities they serve. Their mission statement focuses on fighting hunger and improving the lives of children. As part of Giant’s philanthropic commitment, they donated $1,000 to each of the following local groups in the community: East Stroudsburg School District, East Stroudsburg Fire Department, Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network, Stroud Area Regional Police and Suburban EMS.
