Bogart, GA–Maxine H. Burton was inducted into the 4th Annual Forsyth Central Hall of Fame at Forsyth Central High School in Cumming, Georgia. The Hall of Fame recognizes distinguished alumni who have made positive contributions to the school as well as to the community. Maxine grew up in Cumming and progressed through the entire Forsyth County school system. While in high school, she participated in several clubs, including Georgia 4-H, National Beta Club, and Future Homemakers of America (FHA).
Maxine Burton, founder and president of burton + BURTON, said, “I am honored to be inducted into the Forsyth Central Hall of Fame among other fellow alumni. Through the years, over 17,000 students have graduated from this high school. To be a recipient of this recognition is both meaningful and humbling. My time at Forsyth Central is one I will always cherish. I am thankful for the staff who aided in my success and to the lifelong relationships I created among my peers. One of my fondest memories is ultimately working for my high school principal in my first teaching job. The Forsyth County school system means a lot to me and I’m pleased to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.”
